520			_aEric Liddell ran-- and lived-- for the glory of his God. An Olympic gold medalist, he would not run on Sunday because of his strict observance of the Christian sabbath, and did not compete in his signature event, the 100 meters, at the 1924 Paris Olympics. Dedicated to missionary work in China, he stayed among the Chinese at the start of World War II. Imprisoned by the Japanese, Liddell did what he was born to do: practice his faith and his sport, organizing games for the children, even racing again. Though Liddell died of a brain tumor just before the end of the war, his story still inspires.
