The importance of access to information in today's world cannot be overemphasized. With that in mind, at its 2014 annual conference the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions advanced the Lyon Declaration on Access to Information and Development, which calls on the United Nations to formally acknowledge and promote the necessity to make information and the skills to use it effectively readily available everywhere. This book looks at the many ways in which the information industry is dealing with new demands and technological advances.
