"I certify that this edition of The Book of Common Prayer has been compared with a certified copy of the Standard Book, as the Canon directs, and that it conforms thereto. [Charles Mortimer Guilbert's signature in manuscript] Charles Mortimer Guilbert, Custodian of the Standard Book of Common Prayer, September 1979"--T. p. Verso.
"No authenticated 'Standard' copy signed by the presiding officers and secretaries of each House of the General Convention of 1979 as required by the Canons is known to exist, only these authenticated copies signed in ms. by the Custodian, Charles Mortimer Guilbert. It varies slightly from the earliest Church Hymnal Corporation issue of 1979, in that the Standard includes a rubric concerning silence immediately before the General Confession at Compline [p. 127]; this rubric, missing in both the Draft and Proposed Books ... an obvious typographical error (the rubric is present in every other instance of the General Confession) rectified in the Standard." -- Keys to worship / compiled by Patrick J. Russell. Berkeley (Calif.) : Church Divinity School of the Pacific, 1952.
GTU copy bound in dark blue cloth, with gilt edges, embossed in gold on front cover : "Standard Book of Common Prayer" ; with autograph by Charles Mortimer Guilbert. GTX
