Smith Wigglesworth was one of the most prominent healing evangelists of the early Pentecostal movement. He was, however, largely unknown outside of his town in northern England until he was forty-eight years old. That was when, in 1907, he was baptized by the Holy Spirit. Smith operated a plumbing business and helped his wife with a small gospel mission. She did the preaching - until he was baptized with the Holy Spirit and began to preach with amazing boldness. People who heard him experienced deep conviction, and those who were ill got healed. For the next forty years he held salvation-healing meetings around the world. He helped to establish the Pentecostal movement in New Zealand and Australia and also beacame a well-known speaker across Europe and North America. Now, more than a generation after his death, Smith Wigglesworth continues to bless and inspire believers.
